The new Link Research Tools version dedicated to the SEO Campixx 2010 in Berlin includes new analysis parameters, new link sources and some brand new features that enhance the usability of our tools. In short – it means A LOT MORE LINKS and data for our users!

Analyze Sistrix link data

Automatically import back links from the <a href="http://bit.ly/sistrix-de" target=blank">Sistrix toolbox

Sistrix Backlinks for a given domain

Analyze links based on Sistrix link data

The import of various link sources was requested by many users, the proposals got more than 50 votes on our feedback site. Now you can search for Sistrix backlinks for domain in BATT reports.

Upload Link Source Data

Analyze link data from SeoMoz Linkscape, Majestic and Google Webmaster console

Link Data Import from text files

You can also import backlinks from textfiles from Majestic SEO, SEOmoz Linkscape and Google’s own Webmaster Console in BATT reports. You can select both the back link sources provided by us and the imported link source for a report or only one of them. This means you will be able to aggregate all those back link sources and analyze them in one step!

New Analysis Parameters

SEOmoz mozRank and Majestic ACrank

Don’t let Google fool you with PageRank

MozRank and Majestic ACrank

We added two new values to our Basic SEO package: the mozRank and the MajesticSEO AC Rank. Compare AC rank and mozRank with Pagerank and you’ll see where Google plays funny games with toolbar PR with you!

The mozRank is one of the SEOmoz Linkscape metrics and can be seen as a measure of static importance. The mozRank is SEOMoz’s equivalent to Google’s PR and is based on a 10-point-measure of global link authority. The mozRank and the ACrank provide even more information on the trust and authority of a website and further help you to find the best linking targets on the web.

The Majestic ACrank is an indicator for the strength of a page and can be compared with Google’s Page Rank. The ACrank measures the importance of a page: the higher it is, the more important is the page. The ACrank can only be used when you provide a valid Majestic API key (see picture below).

SEMRush Package

Judge domain strength of your back links with <a href="http://bit.ly/SEMrush-tool" target=blank">SEMRush

SEMRush and Sistrix Values

The more keyword rankings a domain has, the stronger it is simple as that! That’s why we also offer a <a href="http://bit.ly/SEMrush-tool" target=blank">SEMRush package to expand the analysis options of our tools. You will get the SDkw and SDdomkw as report parameter. These values provide the number of keywords a page or domain ranks for. It is a good indicator for the trust of a site. Additionally, the package includes the SEMRush Rank, SEMRush Traffic and SEMRush Traffic Price. The SEMRush Rank is the rating of a page by the number of visitors that come from the first 20 Google search results. The Traffic value tells you about the monthly amount of visitors coming from the first 20 results in Google, the Traffic Price estimates the costs of purchasing the same number of visitors.

Sistrix Package

Judge domain strength of your back links with the <a href="http://bit.ly/sistrix-de" target=blank">Sistrix Visibility Index

Enter API Key to get Sistrix values

The more keyword rankings a domain has, the stronger it is. The new <a href="http://bit.ly/sistrix-de" target=blank">Sistrix package package includes the visibility index (“Sichtbarkeitsindex”) for domains. This is a normalized measure for the “visibility” of a domain in the Google index, also based on the number of different keyword it ranks for – and how well. This a weighted average of ranking position and traffic for a certain keyword helps you compare domains against each other. To work with Sistrix data you have to be a member there and enter the Sistrix API key on the membership page.

Hide function for report lines

Save analysis time by hiding results

Hide/unhide function for report results

We are happy that we could fullfill one more user wish. We have implemented a hide/unhide function that helps to facilitate the organization of the report results.

If you have already looked at an URL and don’t want it to show up, just click in the checkbox in the “hide” column and the result will disappear. You can also show the hidden results or both the hidden and unhidden at the same time by selecting the adequate filters.

SSPT Quick Link Button

Start a SSPT report in a second

SSPT Quicklink Button

Some users wanted a SSPT quicklink button in addition to the BATT quicklink. Now users can also start SSPT reports directly from the report results table for any URL. The buttons are located on the right side of the report results. This feature will once again save some of your precious time and improve the usability of the tools.

Finally we have released a new version of our Link Research Tools. We improved the performance of the Tools and fixed many bugs. This version is faster and offers a few new features.

Bookmarklets

Useful Bookmarklets for Juice, BATT and SSPT.

Bookmarklets in the toolbar of the browser.

On the useful bookmarklets page we provide you some brand new bookmarklets for the Juice, BATT and SSPT tool. If you open this page it will look like on the picture above. If you want to use them you just have to drag and drop them to your browser toolbar. If you have done that it will look like on the picture on the right side. Now imagine you have found an interesting website and would like to start e.g. a BATT report with this URL. Then just click on the BATT bookmarklet in your browser toolbar and the BATT report page of the Link Research Tools will open automatically with your URL filled in. You can do the same with the Juice and the SSPT bookmarklet. The only important thing is that you must be logged in to your Link Research Tools account if you want use the bookmarklet.

The Pagination

The new Pagination feature.

If you have a done report you will only see 100 result URLs on one site. If the report has more than 100 result URLs you can easily navigate to the other sites. You can see above a picture of the navigation feature. Displaying only 100 URLs on each site makes the report clearer and easier to analyze. If you make a CSV export of the report you get of course all results in one Excel file.

New Pie Chart for the BATT Report

A brand new pie chart for follow/nofollow.

We already have implemented a lot of pie charts which make it very convenient to analyze the results of your reports. For example we have a pie chart for the anchor text breakdown, a pie chart for the country, IP, Class-C and domain popularity. Now we have added a brand new pie chart for the BATT. This pie chart shows you follow vs. nofollow links. Just click on the picture on the left and you will see the full size of the pie chart and the table. In the table next to the pie chart you can see the results with the number of links and the percentage.

Our Google Pre-Fetch tool has Google.nl and Dutch

Google Pre-Fetch Tool: Choose Google.nl and Dutch.

Some time ago we have implemented the Google Pre-Fetch tool. This tool automatically generates the top ten listed URLs in Google for each keyword you choose. If you start a new report you will see the Google Pre-Fetch tool like it is shown in the first line of the picture above. If you click on the plus on the left side the tool will open like it is displayed in the second line of the picture above. As mentioned the tool has been implemented some time ago but it is new that you can choose Google.nl and Dutch. This was a wish on our wish list.

The Report finish Notification

The Mail Notification for done Reports.

If you choose the mail notification you will receive an e-mail as soon as your report is done. You can choose this option on your Membership Page. On the right side you can see a screen shot of this notification. Additionally this mail contains a link to our Tools. You just need one click to get to our Tools, log in and check your done report. Could life be easier and more convenient?!

We hope you enjoy our new and improved version of the Link Research Tools. If you have any suggestion for improvement, please use our wish list.

SES London Release of Link Research Tools is out

The Strongest Sub Pages Tool is new handy and 5th tool in our “SES London” release! The Strongest Sub Pages tool helps you to find the strongest pages of a domain to get a link from. This is another thing many users voted for in our feature wishlist – and we delivered!

The new version of our Link Research Tools is dedicated to the SES London 2010 that takes place from February 15 to 19. Christoph will speak in a panel about “The Basics of Link Building” along with Dixon Jones of Receptional and MAJESTIC SEO and Peter Van Der Graaf on February 16 there.

Strongest Sub Pages Tool (SSPT)

The Strongest Subpages Tool offers an easy way to find the strongest pages of a website. The tool lists the subpages of a domain and ranks them by their strength. Additionally, we provide you with the titles of the pages. The tool helps you to find the best pages for getting a link on. The SSPT is another nice feature that facilitates the work of link builders.

SSPT report details

Here’s an example for a SSPT report:

SSPT report for Linkresearchtools.com

Just click on the image on the left and have a look at this SSPT report for Linkresearchtools.com. The reports contains the page URLs, the titles and the strength of each subpage. The pages are already ranked by their strength.

You can see that the home page is by far the most powerful with a value of 111, the second strongest pages only have a value of 29. For a more detailed explanation of the tool have a look at our Strongest Subpages Tool page, which also includes some more samples and a video.

Performance Performance Performance

One of the biggest issues with this type of ad’hoc SEO reporting tool that we built with our Link Research Tools is processing speed. Obviously crawling tens of thousans of detail values from dozens of backends is nothing a small routine can do in some milliseconds, so we added servers, database power, tons of proxies to the whole system for the last month.

The last 6 weeks very especially successful as we now finalized a complete new architecture for crawling, resulting in

500-1500% PERFORMANCE INCREASE

(even for complex reports! we’re not talking strongest sub pages, which takes less than a minute usually even for hundreds of pages

PERFORMANCE INCREASE EXAMPLE

To give you an example an average Common Backlink Analysis with about 40000 values used to run for 15-20 minutes until last week.

TODAY we can process the same report in 1-3 minutes… also depending on load on our proxies!

And this is not the end. We already got some ideas how to tripple or quadrupple that speed in the next weeks!

Stay tuned, our crawlers are fast as light already now, but will get even faster soon!

LIVE PERFORMANCE INCREASE TEST

As another simple example, just enter a bunch of URLs into the input boxes for CBLT, COLT or JUICE and press the “check” button.

What used to take some seconds, is done now, INSTANTLY.

So we have improved the “check URL” function for all reports – now it’s lightning fast! Hope you like it!

We have released a new version of our Link Research Tools. This version has some brand new features which you definitely gonna like. Besides this we have fixed some nasty bugs.

This version is dedicated to next weeks’ “London Affiliate Conference” (LAC) where Christoph will speak about “hunting for that Golden Link” on a panel with Mediadonis and Fantomaster and meet up with many other international SEO experts.

In the following we will give you a brief overview of the new features.

LRT feature wish list

We introduced the Link Research Tools feature wish list where you can post your feature requests and wishes for future versions. If you like suggestions which are already on the page you can vote on them in order to push them up in the ranking.

LRT feature wish list

Juice Sorting Function

In the old version it was only possible to order the Juice parameters alphabetically which does not really make sense. Now the Juice parameters are sorted by their value.

New Layout Buttons

In the SES Chicago version we already introduced a sorting function. Now we have a new button which makes it possible to reset the filter with one click on it. Often there are so many results in the table that you have to change the column width. This new version has a button to reset the column width so you will go back to the initial version of the table. Regarding the sorting function we are planning more so stayed tuned.

Reset Column Width and Reset Filter/Group Buttons

The Hot-List offers you the possibility to save the most important and promising link prospects. Until now it was only possible to save the URLs there but now we have added a remove button. So you can keep your Hot-List up to date easily. The possibility to remove links from the Hot-List was one wish in the LRT feature wish list that we implemented for our users. We are also looking forward to additional requirements on how you would like to organize your results, hot lists and external link lists (i.e. your text link acquisitions – maybe with contact info? price?)

Remove URLs from Hot-List

Meaningful File names

If you export one of your reports they now have meaningful file names and you do not necessarily have to rename the CSV files. The new file names contain the project you have started, the name of the tool you have used, the title of the project and the date of your report. An example for such a file name is: Tennis-BATT-rackets_Top_10-2010-01-14. Meaningful file names was another wish on our wish list that we implemented for our users.

CBLT and COLT

The CBLT respectively the COLT now not only show the number of links reported but also the number of extracted links from the search engine and the number of common links found.

Number of Extracted Links and Number of Common Links

Again, we encourage you to checkout our Link Research Tools feature voting tool to let us know about your requirements. For your convenience you can login there with your existing Twitter or Facebook login.

Enjoy this new version,
another step towards the best link research tool on earth!

A quick closed Beta Test roundup

After inviting hundreds of users to our closed beta tester group,
we gave away quite a couple accounts for the great feedback, and even 15 Google Wave invites when they were hot for the PubCon 2009 version

Feedback, Features, Funky new stuff ahead!

Also quite a lot of the feedback is already factored into the most recent version, which is called “SES chicago version” – just like

new Domain Authority checking methods based on Site Links

new breakdowns for Domain popularity, IP popularity of your back links, Class C popularity

Domain Registrar NAME scrape & display – find link networks easier with that – just like Google!

new GEO breakdown for country popularity of your back links

nice AJAX tables with filters, grouping, re-ordering, etc.

nice graphs & pie charts as you can see here

And of course a lot of improvements like

better link detection

crawl enhancement

report speed enhancements

new link graph input sources for the Common Back Links Tool

and most important: A huge list of great new inputs for our ROAD MAP!

And the winner is … KUDOS

We asked for your feedback – and we got it.

Tons of excel sheets, zillions of mails, requests, replies, questions, etc…

We collected all that, grouped it by user, grouped it quality and impact on the system
and so far have awarded rewards to the following beta testers:

12 Months SuperHero accounts

Todd Malicoat – if you don’t know stuntdubl and his blog, you shouldn’t consider yourself a link buildier. Todd has been working with Jim Boykin of WebuildPages for a while, and likewise Todd gave us a TON of great feedback early on – and lots of stuff is still on the roadmap

Greg Boser – similar to Todd, Greg is an alltime, allstar SEO that you should know and follow! Greg has been working in SEO before I even knew SEO existed. Greg has been building links before I knew links have to be built to rank stuff. Some of the advice that Greg gave me on the Link Research Tools actually delayed rollout a lot, but I think it was really worth it!

Dave Naylor – and Dave, well – one idea of him could give you insights and a ton other follow up ideas. Again, do follow him or you’re missing out big times.

Francois Planque – genious french creator of B2Evoluton. More ideas that time, people and money to work it off – for now. Thanks so Much!

Michael Geneles – helpes us, with a great intercultural touch between Russian, European and US attitude of an below the radar SEO to think about things we might otherwise have missed. Thanks Man!

3 Months SuperHero accounts

Evert Veldhuijzen of OneToMarket

Bytepacker

More to come …

We’ve just invited another round of people to the closed beta users this week, so we’re expecting more feedback, more tests and ideas in the next ideas.

We’re also going to setup a collaboritive voting system, so users can suggest features and vote for them in a hopefully very democratic way. Of course whatever is being voted on needs to be digested, planned, funded and finally implement…

But since our goal is the best link research tool on earth, I’m confident we’ll manage all that!

Thanks & to your success!

Christoph C. Cemper
and the team of
CEMPER.COM and
the LinkResearchTools.com

PS: did you get in the waiting queue for the closed beta group? those people in there will be the first to get into the public Link Research Tools. If you haven’t signed up, why not do it today?

A new version of our Link Research Tools is out again finally! Our development team worked hard in the last few weeks and so we are proud to present you some fine new features that will facilitate the use of the tools for you. In addition to that fancy new caching algorithms should improve report generation time… is this the last closed beta version?

More Pie Charts and Tables

We have introduced pie charts and tables for the categories IP Popularity, Class-C Popularity and Domain Popularity for all tools. The Back Links and Anchortext Tool also offers a pie chart and table for the Anchortext Breakdown. These features were already released for Country Popularity (Geo Breakdown) in the SES Berlin version.

More Pie Charts and Tables (here for IP Popularity

New Table Control Features

But more than this, we have also included a sorting function in the tables. Now you can sort parameters like the Yahoo BackLinks or the Juice values ascending or descending. You can do this by clicking on the table headers and choosing the function you want.

Using the filter to sort the Anchor Text

The new version also has a filter that makes it possible to search for keywords in a column. Additionally, you can also hide columns that you don’t want to be shown in your report. In our example picture we have used the filter for the Anchor Text. As you can see we have been looking for the phrase “geocaching”.

You can also use the filters in the report overview. You can sort the reports by the tool used or the project name.

Filter function for projects in the Report Overview

Another fine feature is the grouping function that allows you to group the results according to a specified field, e.g. follow/no follow, country or Juice. In the picture below you see the result URLs grouped by the follow/no folllow function. You just have to chose the field and then click on “Show in Groups” and the URLs are listed accordingly. In the example we see the 86 result URLs of a BATT report that are follow links.

Result URLs grouped by Follow / No Follow

These features will make it easier to analyse reports and help you save some of your precious time.

Domain Authority Analysis – with Site Links

The Domain Authority Analysis is a special feature developed by CEMPER.COM. Find out what the Domain Authority Analysis is and what it makes so special and unique.

Even more new features

In the CBLT and COLT reports you can mouse over the numbers, indicating the input sites, to see the analyzed domain/page. Additionally, you can click on the radio buttons in the results that stand for the input URLs to go to Yahoo SiteExplorer. There you can browse through all the sites of a domain that link back to the input URL or domain. You can also see how many pages of a domain link to the input URL.

Click on the Buttons to go to Yahoo SiteExplorer

New Action Quick Links

On your membership page you can add three action quick links to your report results. First, there is the Yahoo SiteExplorer (Y) that will show you all the back links of a result URL. The “W” stands for the Who Is Domain Tools that provide you with all relevant domain registration information about a site. If you are a registered member at Sistrix (S), then add this quick link to your report pages and you get Sistrix information on an URL by just one click.

The report creation speed is also increased significantly in the new version due to better caching and crawling optimization. Don’t forget that you can now be notified when one of your reports is finished. Just go to your membership page and under “Tool Settings” check the E-Mail notification box.

Tool Settings

The new version also offers better link detection. In the Back Links and Anchortext Tool (BATT) a lot of the links that were maybe “not found” in the past are now checked successfully, like all the others, if they are really there. Remember: search engines and even 3rd party systems often return wrong date – we want to make sure you look at link that are ONLINE! So we try to identify that LIVE FOR EACH link reported by the engines and external third party link uploads including Majestic SEO or Linkscape – that’s why larger reports take a bit more time

Report parameter presets

You can speed up the use of the Link Research Tools by working with our report parameter presets. You can save report analysis parameter settings and then load them for other reports of the same tool. So you don’t have to pick the parameters you want manually again.

Just in time to the SES Berlin we lunched a new beta version with plenty new features!

Daypass users will benefit from great new features. First, they get a second report analysis package, the Domain Registration and Geo Hosting Details that feature the impressive Geo Breakdown. Additionally, the reports of Daypass users now run with Superhero Speed.

Geo Breakdown

New BATT link in Report

We also increased the limits for Juice reports. Now each user can check up to 100 URLs with our Juice Tool. Daypass users can run up to 50 Juice reports now (instead of 20) and Monthly Experts are able to make 100 reports (instead of 50). Unlimited Superheros can still run up to 250 Juice Reports.

We have also released the new BATT Quick-Links function. You can directly run a BATT for a result URL by clicking on the BATT link which is located right next to the report analysis parameter.

Another new feature is the number of reports that can be run at the same time. Until now, a second report was always queued as long as the first was in progress. In the new version you are able to run two reports parallel, so your waiting time will be reduced since smaller reports won’t be blocked by big reports that need a long time.

Finally, some minutes time for an update on the status of our “PubCon 2009″ version we launched for the final round of the private beta last week.

Being able to work with the PubCon 2009 version and all it’s features made people really hit our servers. Actually it killed them for some hours!

There were so many signups during the last weekend that not only our servers were fully loaded, but also one really crazy runaway bug cause our servers to kinda-crash on Sunday night to Monday. Well, that’s what beta tests are for.

This is the reason why a couple of your reports might be “BROKEN” or might still be running ( if they are day pass reports – * see below * )

While the situation is clear and bugs are being fixed I want to say SORRY if this weekend was your first trial for the LinkResearchTools.

Lesson Learnt - don’t let your promo end on a weekend if you don’t have support staff on site – and no, I didn’t send my people in on weekend after a hard week and an even harder week ahead. Anyways, I found myself wading thru tons of great feedback and also some mails from users concerned about the outage. Sorry for blogging this here earlier during the crazy day of fixing this – as I said it was a bit a of a mess, as I also couldn’t be at my desk the full day

My offer:

if you got yourself a daypass on the weekend and want to continue, we will extend it thru Friday – just let us know please

if you bought into a monthly/unlimited account and want 2 of 30 days refunded, just let us know and we’ll do so

One important finding – we missed to document that we have different report priorities. The Unlimited Superhero reports are always done before the “Monthly Expert” reports and those are always processed before the DayPass reports.

What do you think about that? is it fair?

Anyway – current mode is documented here already http://www.linkresearchtools.com/products-overview

Some new features we launched silently last week was

TOP10 crawler also for the juice tool (we spoke about this for the “PubCon 2009″ already)

new CBLT feature set for analysis to switch commonality strategy from same URLs (precise) to same domains (more results, and more important for the trust rank believers) [thanks to @wiep for pointing this important one out - read more about it soon!]

fixes for Domain parameters (expect more)

configurable quick action links (“settings” – expect more soon!)

better default titles for reports (timesaver)

feedback form has your email now – change if you want replies somewhere else

Some more to come this week

AWESOME geo breakdown (LOVE it! for use with domain/ip report params)

new SEMrush report analyis parameters (soon more to hear!)

new Sitelink & Authority Status analysis parameter (still in alpha stage!)

Even more to come in the following weeks

new payment module (some crazy bugs in there for weeks, but need to retest the whole thing)

all new table interface – AJAXish, filter/group/etc

BATT analyis by TARGET page (love it!)

manual link upload features

3rd party link graph provider integration (revealed soon!)

new SEO-Celeb param weighting style (can’t wait to show off this feature!)

new DLT tool

new LCT tool

even more report analysis parameters for traffic, trust and SEO strength indicators

Private Beta Status

The private beta “promo” is closed now as we have enough testers and we won’t let anyone in until we open the public beta, or he decides to pay us in full.

This means we’re operating in private beta, but preparing for an open beta. All current users can work normal (unless we experience such a rush as last weekend).

BUT, for THOSE users, that signed up for the waiting list, but somehow missed the e-mail for the private beta invitation, please comment here and I’ll make sure you can get in.

Again, thank you very much for your support and feedback so far, and I’m really looking forward to making this the most awesome link building and research tool on the market!

Good night,

It’s done – our new PubCon 2009 Version version is out

Yeah – we thought we give it a name, just like those Google updates always get nice names. And with PubCon around the corner next week the “PubCon 2009″ name for the latest release of our LinkResearchTools was obvious

This is probably the last private beta version we have, and just today we’re inviting another 200 people to sign up and test the private beta with us – AND WIN!

Test with us and Win!

In addition to being able to work with best link research tools on the market, you can win!

Unlimited Superhero Passes Giveaway

If you want to join the last round of the private beta please signup here

Great New Features!

Performance: we added tons of new servers & ips – hence improved performance by over 1000%

Top 10 Ranks: we have a new Google Rankings fetch tool which conveniently populates the URL boxes of the Common Back Links and Common Outboud Links tool in a second with those results that rank top for the keywords/topics you want to analyse. This is a great time saver if you want to digg into a new industry or competitive field … below you see a simple example of how it looks like.

Google Top Ranks fetch tool

SPEED!!: we also increased parallelism of the backend – which means that your reports are going to be finished A LOT faster (yet you can queue all your jobs and then go for a break

Domain & Geo Info: we introduced great new analysis parameters to the Domain Registration & Geo Info analysis package. We now show the IP address, the hosting location country as well as the Domain Owner NAME (in addition to the Domain Registrar). This can be very useful in understanding about link satellite networks and similar patterns of your competitors – Think “Google” also the geographic locations where your links come from are crucial especially for country specific optimization!

Domain Registration & Geo Location Info for each backlink!

Quick Links: we added a new feature we call “Quick Links” which is just a small set of small links besides each link that we list that help you look up detail information in systems we either don’t display completely or that are somewhat proprietary. You can see an example below. Currently we have links for detailled Yahoo Backlinks, Domaintools WHOIS information as well as a detailled keyword lookup via the SISTRIX tools, which are especially great for the german market and will be integrated deeper in future versions. Also we can soon give you the option to customize those quick links as you wish – for using your own personal tools. They come in VERY VERY handy

Quick Links help you access your favorite external tool EASY!

tons of other little bugfixes, enhancements, clarifications on the UI … expect a lot more to come soon!

Whats Next?

Did we mention that this was just the start? We have dozens of new features on the roadmap, but wanted to stabilize and tune the base level system first. Expect a lot of new features to be announced in the next weeks, as soon as private beta is closed.

Oh – and keep in mind – all those upgrades, new versions and improvements are always included for existing members!
