"PubCon 2009" killed LinkResearchTool
Nov 17
Finally, some minutes time for an update on the status of our “PubCon 2009″ version we launched for the final round of the private beta last week.
Being able to work with the PubCon 2009 version and all it’s features made people really hit our servers. Actually it killed them for some hours!
There were so many signups during the last weekend that not only our servers were fully loaded, but also one really crazy runaway bug cause our servers to kinda-crash on Sunday night to Monday. Well, that’s what beta tests are for.
This is the reason why a couple of your reports might be “BROKEN” or might still be running ( if they are day pass reports – * see below * )
While the situation is clear and bugs are being fixed I want to say SORRY if this weekend was your first trial for the LinkResearchTools.
Lesson Learnt - don’t let your promo end on a weekend if you don’t have support staff on site – and no, I didn’t send my people in on weekend after a hard week and an even harder week ahead. Anyways, I found myself wading thru tons of great feedback and also some mails from users concerned about the outage. Sorry for blogging this here earlier during the crazy day of fixing this – as I said it was a bit a of a mess, as I also couldn’t be at my desk the full day
My offer:
- if you got yourself a daypass on the weekend and want to continue, we will extend it thru Friday – just let us know please
- if you bought into a monthly/unlimited account and want 2 of 30 days refunded, just let us know and we’ll do so
One important finding – we missed to document that we have different report priorities. The Unlimited Superhero reports are always done before the “Monthly Expert” reports and those are always processed before the DayPass reports.
What do you think about that? is it fair?
Anyway – current mode is documented here already http://www.linkresearchtools.com/products-overview
Some new features we launched silently last week was
- TOP10 crawler also for the juice tool (we spoke about this for the “PubCon 2009″ already)
- new CBLT feature set for analysis to switch commonality strategy from same URLs (precise) to same domains (more results, and more important for the trust rank believers) [thanks to @wiep for pointing this important one out - read more about it soon!]
- fixes for Domain parameters (expect more)
- configurable quick action links (“settings” – expect more soon!)
- better default titles for reports (timesaver)
- feedback form has your email now – change if you want replies somewhere else
Some more to come this week
- AWESOME geo breakdown (LOVE it! for use with domain/ip report params)
- new SEMrush report analyis parameters (soon more to hear!)
- new Sitelink & Authority Status analysis parameter (still in alpha stage!)
Even more to come in the following weeks
- new payment module (some crazy bugs in there for weeks, but need to retest the whole thing)
- all new table interface – AJAXish, filter/group/etc
- BATT analyis by TARGET page (love it!)
- manual link upload features
- 3rd party link graph provider integration (revealed soon!)
- new SEO-Celeb param weighting style (can’t wait to show off this feature!)
- new DLT tool
- new LCT tool
- even more report analysis parameters for traffic, trust and SEO strength indicators
Private Beta Status
The private beta “promo” is closed now as we have enough testers and we won’t let anyone in until we open the public beta, or he decides to pay us in full.
This means we’re operating in private beta, but preparing for an open beta. All current users can work normal (unless we experience such a rush as last weekend).
BUT, for THOSE users, that signed up for the waiting list, but somehow missed the e-mail for the private beta invitation, please comment here and I’ll make sure you can get in.
Again, thank you very much for your support and feedback so far, and I’m really looking forward to making this the most awesome link building and research tool on the market!
Good night,
Christoph C. Cemper
